I’m A Celebrity star Danny Jones has opened up about one of his most severe panic attacks which made him want to vomit on This Morning.

The McFly star, 38, told his campmates on Tonight’s ITV show that he has been in therapy since he was 19 to treat anxiety.

He recalled that he once suffered a panic attack on a television show while being interviewed and detailed his distress.

The All About You singer explained: “I was panicked and couldn’t answer the question that was asked.”

He said he panicked when he noticed the camera on him, then he went white and felt like he was going to vomit. Danny also said his heart rate had gone “crazy.”

When Jane Moore asked Danny if he thought he developed anxiety as a child or if it was the result of being in a group, he replied: “I think I escaped a lot .”

Visibly moved, he put his head in his hands and was comforted by Tulisa, who said: “It’s really good to let him out and it’s really brave to be vulnerable, people respect him.”

Danny had previously spoken about his anxiety and said that he sometimes felt like he was “dying” during a serious fight.

He told the Belfast Telegraph in 2019: “I suffered from claustrophobia, broke out in cold sweats, felt a band tightening around my chest and feared I was having a heart attack. It’s so scary and sometimes I felt like I was dying. You can’t believe your body can do this to you.

“I was also plagued by dark thoughts that I couldn’t control. It affected my whole life – my work, my health and my sleep. I was determined to bury him and say goodbye. Admitting my anxiety was the first big step and little by little, I pulled myself together.

Danny told the publication that he hasn’t suffered a panic attack since 2013.

Since entering the jungle on Sunday, Danny has made quite an impression, especially after completing the first challenge of the series.

Being that I’m a celebrity, of course Danny and Barry weren’t alone in the mausoleum as they were joined by several snakes slithering between them.

Danny got to know the reptiles very well, as a cheeky snake slithered into his shorts during the challenge.

“I have a snake in my shorts!” » Danny shouted, with host Declan Donnelly remarking: “That’s what we call a pants snake around here.”

An animal handler came to help Danny as he pulled down his shorts to reveal the large reptile nestled in there.

The Obviously hitmaker is one of the favorites to win this year’s show, beating the bookies’ odds and also convincing former Pointless host Richard Osman.

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV and ITVX at 9pm tomorrow.
