Yemi Alade Makes Nollywood Debut, Appears in Menstrual Health Film: ‘Long Overdue’

The film “Time of the Month”, in which she acted and sang, will be released in a few days. It focuses on mental health.

Yemi’s song “Your Role Model’s SUPERWOMAN” celebrates the strength of women and encourages them to stand up and stop being shy about their periods.

The movie also featured actors and actresses like Femi Branch, Liquorose, Mike Ezuruonye and many more. JJC Skillz filmed it.

The campaign combines music, film and advocacy to break the silence surrounding menstrual health and hygiene (MHH).

Population Services International (PSI) Nigeria, in collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Yemi Alade and a host of Nollywood stars, has launched a powerful short film and new music single to raise awareness and drive change.

Yémi Alade wrote:

“Save the date… November 19 psicreativesnigeria challenges traditional norms and reshapes the way society engages with menstrual health.”

She shared the post on her official Instagram page.

Fans are so proud of the singer that many have pointed out how such a film is long overdue. Many women still need to be educated about menstrual health.
