Lisa Breaks Silence on MTV Awards Performance After Lip-Sync Accusations: ‘I Was Shaking…’

BLACKPINK member Lisa made headlines in September when she performed at the 2024 MTV VMAs. At the time, she performed her songs solo. As fans celebrated the milestone, many social media users thought she was lip-syncing. In a new interview, Lisa looked back on the performance and shed some light on it. Although she didn’t respond to the criticism, she admitted that she was nervous before performing on the international stage.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, she admitted she was shaking before going on stage. “Last time I went with my daughters for Blackpink, but this time it was just me. It was an important thing for me. I was shaking before going on stage. I don’t know if it was because backstage was cold, or if I was nervous…. But I think I was nervous!” she said.

“When I take a risk, I always believe in my instinct! Like my heart, my body, and my mind are all telling me that I need to do this. I’ll just go. I’m also lucky that my family, my close friend, and the people I work with are so supportive. They have always supported my decisions. Even when they don’t really agree and they’re really worried, they still support me and take risks with me, so I never feel like I’m taking it on my own,” Lisa revealed.

Although Lisa has had a memorable year musically, she is ready to make her international acting debut. She will be seen in season 3 of The White Lotus. The new season is based in Thailand and Lisa will play a local in the series. She was seen in the recently released trailer. Lisa, also from Thailand, said the show allowed her to spend time at home and with her mother.
