Rathbane Group launches careers program to recruit 50 new starters – The Irish News

The Rathbane Group, which includes well-known construction and manufacturing companies MJM Marine, Mivan and Topglass, is recruiting for 50 new starts.

The second-generation family business, founded by Brian McConville CBE, has announced it will expand its ‘Navigate’ early career program, which offers a range of career pathways including apprenticeships, higher level apprenticeships, traineeships for students and graduate positions. in his three professions.

The Newry company’s commitment to developing the next generation of talent was highlighted at its annual Navigate event, which brought together all 80 Navigator students from across the Rathbane Group to celebrate their achievements on the program.

Attendees at the event included Economy Minister Conor Murphy and Kathleen O’Hare, Chair of the Skills Council of Northern Ireland.

Mr Murphy said: “Increasing our local skills base and creating a balanced regional economy are at the heart of my economic plans.

“The Rathbane Group’s commitment to developing talent and creating high-quality career pathways for young people across the North is exceptional.

“The Navigate program equips young people with the technical skills and practical experience needed for today’s competitive job market, and I wish all Navigate apprentices and graduates every success as they embark on their promising career path.



The program covers various roles including carpentry, project management, site management, quantity surveying, design, estimating, human resources and marketing.

Naoimh McConville, managing director of Rathbane Group, said: “The construction and manufacturing sectors are facing a critical shortage of skilled workers, particularly in technical roles.

“The Navigate program is the cornerstone of our commitment to developing the skills and leaders of tomorrow.

“Apprenticeship has always been in our DNA, and some of our first apprentices are still with us today. By collaborating with universities, colleges and schools, we aim to attract early career talent and deliver a market-leading program to shape the next generation within our businesses.

The Rathbane Group, which also includes a diversified real estate and investment arm, Rathbane Property, says it is dedicated to driving growth and sustainability in the construction sector by investing in people and skills development .
