Lindsay Lohan Details Filming Our Secret Little Weed Gummies Scene

Lindsay Lohan is a seasoned rom-com pro — but she has to act like she got high after eating a bag of weed candy in her new holiday movie Our little secret presented some challenges.

“You know, I didn’t even know where to go (with that scene), actually,” Lohan, 38, exclusively said. Us every week before the film’s release. “And I was like, ‘I just need to be really calm today.’ Because I didn’t know what it felt like! So I was very nervous and I was asking people, ‘Do you know what it is?’

Lohan plays Avery in the Netflix film, who finds herself thrown into chaos when she and her ex Logan (Ian Harding) realize that they are now dating siblings and are forced to spend the holidays together. While the couple has an endless amount of baggage to unpack, Logan comes to Avery’s aid when she accidentally snacks on marajuana gummy bears minutes before going to church.

Harding, for her part, wanted to follow her character’s lead in helping Lohan with her acting challenge, but didn’t know how to approach the situation.

“I know what it means if you step in (and give advice). I was a little afraid to say, “Oh, that’s how it is!” and (ask someone) to say, “Excuse me, Ian? “, he said. “Also in the house of God, you know?”

Not only does Avery ingest the candy before attending a church service, but she is also supposed to read a story to the entire congregation, which includes the step-monster from hell, Erica (Kristin Chenowith). When the words start to blur before Avery’s eyes and the Virgin Mary begins to speak to him in real time, it’s clear that things have gotten worse.

Despite Lohan’s apprehension: “When I read the script, I was like, ‘I don’t know!'” she said. We — Harding and Chenowith fully supported the scene.

“That was one of my favorite parts!” I was like, “Oh, let’s do it,” Harding insisted, while Chenowith added, “Same, same!”

Spoiler alert – Lohan ends up crashing the scene in question. And even with her anxiety about how to properly portray someone “super stoned” (as Harding’s character points out in the film), Lohan — along with the rest of the cast — were in complete agreement on the fact that filming the film brought them all closer together.

“It was great. It was really fun. It was a fun shoot,” Lohan said We. “We all spent a lot of time together on the stage we were filming on, so we all had to find fun things to do in our free time, whether it was ordering food out or eating lunch together. But it was a great experience.

While Lohan has been known for her romantic comedies since playing adorable twins Hallie and Annie in 1998’s The parents’ trap, she has also become the Queen of Christmas in recent years. For her, making seasonal films has become more special now that she is a mother.

“They’ve always been sentimental to me, but now they’re even more special and sentimental because I get to share it with my son and it’s all new through his eyes,” she shared. “Everything is like the first time. So it’s so beautiful. I’m getting really mushy about this.

Lohan and her husband, Bader Shammaswelcome their son, Luai, in 2022, and the mean girls The star couldn’t help but gush about her recent major events.

“I’ll just sit here and talk about him,” she joked, before adding with a laugh: “He runs fast now. And, like, he knows his food and breathes hard if it’s rice or pasta.

Chenowith, for her part, also enjoys looking into holiday traditions with her husband, Josh Bryant – don’t expect her to cook.

“I think people think I’m like the decorator and the cook. That I’m really good at this,” Chenowith began, before Lohan interjected. “I saw you baking Halloween cookies and I was like, ‘I don’t think she knows how to bake!'”

Chenowith joked that her attempt at Halloween candy was actually her “first time” using her stove, but she loves attending other people’s parties — and is learning to lean into the decorating aspect of the holiday.
