MacBook Pro, speaker repair, at a lower cost

MacBook Pro, speaker repair, at a lower cost

Apple is making MacBook Pro repair more affordable.

Apple will significantly reduce the cost of repairing speakers on the Apple Silicon 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro, ending the long-standing need to purchase a complete replacement upper case.

Replacing damaged speakers on these MacBook Pro models remains complex, but self-service repair will be up to 90% cheaper than currently. This is entirely because repair parts for standalone speakers will be available soon.

Therefore, users will not have to pay for a replacement battery, MacBook Pro top case, or other unrelated components. As first spotted by MacRumorsThis will be the first time the MacBook Pro’s speakers have been directly repairable since 2015.

Apple is also expected to make parts available to order through its U.S. self-service repair store.

Updated repair manuals have also been released by Apple. With the correct instructions, tools and components from the repair store, users can now attempt speaker repairs themselves.
