Daughter receives 1,000 taels of gold as dowry, Thanh Hoa bride wears layers of gold and extravagant gifts overwhelm families at weddings: these are the weddings that have captivated social media in 2024.

The sight of brides adorned in gold necklaces and bracelets always attracts special attention online. This year, several weddings stood out for their breathtaking dowries and dazzling wealth.

Dong Thap bride receives 1,000 taels of gold

In late October, a gold-laden wedding in Dong Thap province sparked much discussion.

The bride, Minh Thu, is the daughter of a prominent jewelry store owner in Hong Ngu Town, Dong Thap. On her wedding day, her mother gave her 9.9 billion VND, 1,000 taels of gold and various other precious jewelry. The total value of the dowry exceeded hundreds of billions of VND.

A viral video showing Minh Thu receiving her dowry shows her adorned with oversized gold rings, bracelets and necklaces with intricate designs.

The wedding also featured unique gold items, such as a set of golden armor, hairpins, flower-shaped gold rings, and even a gold bridal bouquet. Most of these items were custom designed by the mother of the bride and meticulously crafted as wedding gifts for her daughter.

A Ben Tre bride wears 26 taels of gold

In September, the wedding of Minh Thu (born 2004 in Ben Tre) and Minh Duc (born 2001 in An Giang) attracted attention with the impressive bride’s dowry of 26 taels of gold, from cash and other gifts from both families.

The images of Minh Thu wearing multiple layers of gold necklaces and bracelets stunned onlookers. Her radiant bridal beauty also became a subject of admiration.

The couple’s love story was blessed by both families, who share a long-standing friendship. The groom’s family owns a rice milling business, while the bride’s family is involved in the rice business. These bonds helped pave the way for the couple’s union.

Thanh Hoa’s bride adorned with “gold in gold”

In October, the wedding of Mai Trang (born 1998 in Thanh Hoa) and Van Tuan (born 1993 in Thanh Hoa) particularly attracted attention. The bride was seen wearing “gold within gold” as family members had to layer the gold necklaces around her neck due to the volume.

Mai Trang revealed that her parents gave her 15 taels of gold, while her relatives and friends gave her an additional 2 taels of gold. His two older brothers also gave him VND1 billion in cash.

Beyond these, there were many other precious gifts from the groom’s family that the couple had not yet managed to catalog.

Mai Trang works as a bank employee, while her husband is a company director. The couple dated for seven years before getting married.

A Phu Tho bride wears 15 taels of gold

The May wedding of Minh Tam (born in 1998 in Phu Tho) and Huy Hoang (born in 1994 in Ha Tinh) caused a sensation on social networks.

On her wedding day, Minh Tam wore 15 taels of gold, including three-tiered gold necklaces around her neck. Her wrists and fingers were also adorned with an abundance of gold rings and bracelets.

At the time of the wedding, the price of gold reached an all-time high, further amplifying the public’s fascination with this opulent spectacle.

The couple dated for three years before their marriage. Huy Hoang is the manager of a travel agency specializing in international airline ticketing, while Minh Tam returned to Vietnam after studying in Japan to support her husband in his business.
