Amazon Fire Stick trick lets you instantly find the lost remote using a hidden ‘ringtone’ – there are two ways to activate it

DON’T panic if you’ve lost your Amazon Fire TV Stick remote.

There’s an easy way to find it in seconds without having to turn your entire house upside down.

3

You can find your lost TV remote using an Amazon trick if it’s within 30 feet of the streaming device.

It turns out that some Fire TV remotes have a built-in ringtone.

And you can sound a beep when you’ve lost your remote, allowing you to find it instantly.

This is a much better solution than removing all the cushions from your couch and crawling on the floor to look under the cabinets.

There are two ways to enable the feature, and both are very simple.

But the first thing to note is that not all Fire TV remotes offer this feature.

For this to work, you’ll specifically need an Amazon Alexa Voice Remote Pro.

If you have any other type of Alexa remote, this will not work.

HOW TO USE THE AMAZON REMOTE

First, note that this won’t work if your Alexa Voice Remote Pro isn’t already paired with a Fire TV.

And you’ll also need it registered to the same account as your Alexa account.

Additionally, your remote must be within 30 feet of the paired Fire TV.

If it’s too far, it won’t work.

Additionally, if the remote control battery is dead, it will not work either.

You now have two options.

The first is to say “Find my remote” on any Amazon device you have with Alexa support.

You can ask Alexa to find your Fire TV remote for you

This could also be the Alexa app on a smartphone or in the Fire TV app.

Another option is to tap the Remote Finder icon in the Remote tab of the Fire TV app.

Either option should make Alexa Voice Remote Pro ring for up to five minutes.

Keep in mind that Amazon says it can take up to 30 seconds for the ringtone to start.

Once you find the TV remote, simply press any button to stop it from ringing.

If you can’t get the feature to work, make sure your Fire Stick is connected to a power socket and not the USB port on the TV.

This means that the feature can work even if the TV itself is turned off.

For this to work on a turned off smart TV, you must have already enabled voice commands when the TV screen is off.

SKY FANS CAN DO IT TOO!

Amazon isn’t the only TV manufacturer to help you find lost remotes.

British TV giant Sky also offers a similar feature on its Sky Q boxes.

Turns out the Q logo on the front of the box is actually a button.

And if you press it, your TV remote will beep.

This is a great way to find your lost Sky TV remote, giving you a 30 second window to find the beep again.

But be careful: this only works with Sky Q main boxes and not Sky Q. mini boxes.

The remote control must also be associated with the Sky box and within its range.

On top of that, it must have a battery – a dead remote won’t beep.
