Sugababes icon Keisha Buchanan has terrified EastEnders fans by claiming the show will end next year.

Keisha, 40, is set to embark on a UK and European arena tour in 2025, and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend with bandmates Mutya Buena and Siobhán Donaghy to promote the events.

Unfortunately, EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was eliminated from the competition on the same show.

The trio reunited in 2011 and resurrected the Sugababes name five years ago.

Aside from her musical pursuits, she’s obviously a big fan of the BBC soap, which celebrates its 40th anniversary next year.

Writing on social media platform X, she said: “Just heard about Eastenders ending! This has been around for as long as I can remember. Whyyyyyy?!! I’m really so sad.

The update sparked fear among fans, who were quick to shut her down and assure her that the series wasn’t going anywhere. It later turned out that it was Mutya who started the hoax.

“Wait, Mutya pulled my leg over Eastenders? Please confirm? She’s not on Twitter but if she is, help me get her back! I need some ideas ASAP (nothing too crazy because we have work on Monday lol). I can’t believe she had my feelings on me all night,” she wrote in the early hours of Saturday.

The group is famous for a number of 2000s bops, including Overload and Push The Button.

The latter track hit headlines in recent months when Coronation Street star Emrhys Cooper revealed he appeared in the music video.

Released as the first single from their album Bigger in many ways in September 2005, it was no surprise that the song reached number one in the UK charts.

The song describes a woman’s sexual frustration with a man oblivious to her signals, and in the video we see Keisha, Mutya and Heidi Range (who replaced Siobhán) flirting with three guys in an elevator.

One of the guys was none other than Emrhys, who played Corrie cult leader Rowan Cunliffe.

Now fully assured that her favorite ongoing drama just keeps going from strength to strength, Keisha began planning her revenge on Mutya.

“I have a plan,” she wrote with a wink: “Watch this space.”

Fans began to suggest their own ideas on how she could get hers back, while one said: “Girllll, I don’t think the BBC will ever end EastEnders.” Especially) not after the incredible journey they had with The Six.

Keisha replied: “Whew! Lol, and honestly, she spoke for all of us when she said that.
