Strictly’s Pete Wicks shares statement after surprise vote result

Strictly Come DanceIt is Pete Wicks shared his surprise at still being on the show in week 11.

THE TOWIE The star took to Instagram after last weekend’s show to thank fans who voted for him and his professional partner Jowita Przystał.

On Saturday November 23, Pete and Jowita danced a tango to “Easy Lover” by Philip Bailey and Phil Collins. They received a score of 29 – the lowest of the episode – but were saved by the public vote.

Responding to viewers’ support, Pete wrote: “First of all THANK YOU, I never expected to be anywhere near a quarter final on this show and the fact that I am is purely down to you at home! I don’t know why you’re voting but I’m so grateful that you do.

“I put everything I could into this over the last 3 months, I went for it and I feel very lucky to continue this roller coaster ride with Jowita,” he continued.

“I’m not a dancer, I’m not an artist, I’m just a guy trying to get a little better every week. I wish I could thank each and every one of you individually.”

He also said he was “sorry” for not being “as good as the others”, adding: “I’m trying my best, we all do. I’m just trying to get better and learn as I go. gradually. Nobody is surprised anymore. that I’m still here as me.

Pete’s heartfelt message received an outpouring of love from fans and fellow celebrities, and of course, his Strictly partner Jowita.

“You started from 0 and you get better every week and that’s it Strictly it is,” she wrote. “You work very hard, every week you give it your all! You deserve to be here. I believed in you since day one! And people believe in you too! I’m so glad they can see what I can see…thank you everyone for all your support.”

Pete’s friend Zara McDermott, who previously joked that she was “angry” at him for outliving her during Strictlyalso shared his love for the quarter-finalist.

“Amazing. I’m so so so so happy you’re done!!!!!” she commented. “At first I was barely able to clap to the beat (lol), now look at you, quarter-finalist of the biggest show on television. You inspire millions, keep it up.”

Strictly Come Dance is broadcast on Saturdays on BBC One, while the spin-off Strictly: it takes two is broadcast weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
