Bulgarian President approves PM Chinh’s idea on six key areas of cooperation

(VOVWORLD) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Bulgarian President Rumen Radev on Monday in Hanoi. Both stressed the need to strengthen trade and investment cooperation to match their healthy political relations.

President Radev accepted Prime Minister Chinh’s proposals on six key areas of cooperation that the two countries need to strengthen in the coming times.

First, it is necessary to strengthen political trust by increasing the exchange of delegations, thereby promoting cooperation in various fields.

Second, Vietnam and Bulgaria will strengthen trade and investment cooperation with the aim of increasing bilateral trade turnover to $500 million in the coming time.

Third, they will strengthen cooperation in education, a traditional area of ​​collaboration between the two countries.

Fourth, they will promote the strengthening of cooperation in the field of labor, an area with significant complementary potential.

Fifth, they will strengthen coordination and mutual support in regional and international forums, such as the United Nations, ASEM and the ASEAN-EU framework.

Sixth, they agreed to promote people-to-people exchanges and collaboration by organizing activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025.

Radev said he would advocate for other EU countries to quickly ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and support the European Commission (EC) in removal of the “yellow card” warning against Vietnam’s seafood exports to the EU market. .

The two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement the cooperation framework, including signed agreements, and strengthen collaboration in traditional areas such as defense, security, trade and investment, science and technology, education and training, medicine, culture and interpersonal relationships. exchanges.

Furthermore, they committed to expanding their cooperation to potential complementary areas such as digital transformation, digital data creation and connectivity, artificial intelligence, electronics, labor, agriculture and food security .

The two sides also agreed to support each other by serving as gateways for their goods to enter the ASEAN and EU markets.

The President said Vietnam is one of the most potential markets for Bulgaria in Southeast Asia, adding that nearly 30 major Bulgarian companies accompanied him on this visit and will participate in the Vietnam- Bulgaria, which will be held on Wednesday in Ho Chi Minh City.
