iiyama launches affordable 280Hz gaming monitor

iiyama has announced an affordable gaming monitor offering a refresh rate of up to 280Hz. Part of the G-Master series, this display is specially designed for esports enthusiasts and professional gamers.

G-Master GB2795HSU-B1 Gold Phoenix is ​​a 27-inch monitor with a 280Hz refresh rate VA panel. The brand claims a response time of 0.2ms (MPRT). This makes it one of the fastest VA displays and iiyama’s fastest G-Master monitor to date.

Being a VA type, the GB2795HSU-B1 boasts a nice 4000:1 contrast ratio – bringing shadows in games and movies to life – as well as 300 nits of brightness. Combined with its rapid refresh, this makes it a one-stop shop for scripted and competitive titles. It even supports HDR10 content, but I wouldn’t hold my breath given the lack of local dimming zones.
