An FIR has been lodged and investigation is underway, police told ANI. Puran, an employee at one of the clubs, said that although the restaurant was closed, there were seven to eight workers inside at the time of the incident. They reportedly heard a loud noise around 3:15 a.m. and rushed outside. They found broken glass, but did not spot anyone, he added.
Police reported that two individuals on motorcycles threw the explosive devices outside De’orra Restaurant and Sevillee Bar & Lounge, located approximately 30 meters apart. The explosions shattered window panes and caused minor structural damage to both establishments, with a neighboring club also suffering minor damage.
Chandigarh police rushed to the spot after receiving reports of the blasts and started an investigation. The bomb detection team and forensic experts were called in to collect evidence. Preliminary results suggest the use of a homemade bomb, but police have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the device.
The blasts have raised concerns about security in the region, especially at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Chandigarh on December 3.

Goldy Brar, a known member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had earlier claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in May 2022. He was declared a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act earlier this year. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the explosions to identify the culprits and determine their motivations.
