The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday announced that a 22-hour water service disruption would begin on Thursday evening in many parts of south Mumbai’s Worli and Lower Parel areas, located in the G/ municipal wards. South and G./North.

According to local authorities, the disruptions would be caused by maintenance and repair activities.

A 1450mm water pipe will be repaired from 10pm on Thursday and is expected to be completed by 8pm the following day.

To prevent spills, the entire water supply through the pipes must be shut off. During these 22 hours, the power supply will therefore be completely cut off. At Gaware Chowk, the pipeline gates are located under the main road.

NM Joshi Marg, Currey Road, BDD Chawl (Worli), Prabhadevi, Senapati Bapat Marg and Veer Sagar Marg are among the major places that would be affected.

According to civic officials, almost all areas between Prabhadevi and Lower Parel would not have water throughout the construction period. Authorities advised people to use water sparingly.
