Santa’s postbox is back in Shrewsbury – but hurry so the letters reach the North Pole on time

The postbox is located under the Old Market Hall in The Square, and children from Shrewsbury and beyond can post their letters to Santa until December 19 – the deadline for posting them so they can reach the North Pole in time.

Next to the letterbox, the large traditional Christmas tree supplied by Leaton Forest is also back, as part of Shrewsbury BID’s festive campaign in the town centre.

EJ Hopson-VandenBos, from Shrewsbury BID, said: “This is the sixth year we have been organizing letters to Santa and the postbox has become a popular part of Shrewsbury’s festive calendar.

Shrewsbury resident Flora sends her letter to the North Pole for Santa.

“Children can pick up a special letter template from artist Hannah Chumbley in the museum gift shop or download and print it from the Original Shrewsbury website, or write their own letter on plain paper, according to their preference The most important thing is to include an email address so that Santa can respond to you!

“Of course, Santa is busy in the run-up to the big day, so letters need to be posted before December 19 to ensure he has time to read them and send a response.”
