Nine out of 10 respondents are aware of Quick Commerce services, and half of them have used these services in the past week, a Meta study found. The report delves further into the rise of fast commerce and the increasing shift in online shopping habits in Tier 2 and 3 cities. The study also highlights that while grocery and personal care products remain dominant , there is a notable increase in the adoption of niche categories such as hair care, skin care, and health and wellness.

Meta platforms are at the heart of this shift, with 86% of respondents discovering new Quick Commerce brands or products through Meta channels, which leverage AI technology. These platforms also generate higher conversion rates, with Meta showing the highest click-through and purchase rates. Additionally, the report mentions that influencers play an important role in consumer decision-making, as more than a third of respondents discovered new products through influencers and 30% made purchases based on them. recommendations from influencers. Generation Z, in particular, is leading the rapid adoption of commerce, particularly in niche categories like activewear, wellness and pet supplies.

The study titled “E-Commerce Shopping Journey Study in Tier 2 & 3 Cities” surveyed 2,182 internet users from these regions and found that fashion, food, beauty and mobile phones are the main categories purchased online. Social media emerged as the leading channel for product discovery, with 68% of respondents using platforms like Instagram to find new products, including through Reels (59%) and influencers (57%). Additionally, 55% of respondents said they use messaging platforms, particularly WhatsApp, to make purchases, and 46% of influencer followers said seeing an influencer compare and promote products influenced their decisions.
