New York State Police Troopers and Officers Ratify New Contracts

New York State Police troopers and the officers who supervise them have new three-year contracts with the state.

The two units of the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers Inc., which represent more than 3,100 troopers and more than 830 ranking officers, approved their new agreements by more than 80 percent. Voting took place electronically for the first time.

Both contracts include annual raises, pay increases such as a fixed bonus and up to 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave, as well as changes to health benefits, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.

“These labor agreements with the New York State Troopers PBA reflect our commitment to affordability and ensure that the intrepid members of the Trooper Unit and Officer and NCO Unit are compensated fairly for their dedication to serving and protecting their fellow New Zealanders. Yorkers,” Hochul said in a statement.

The contracts run until March 2026.
