Dad rushes to put out the fire, no one expects what his 7 year old son says

A seven-year-old boy had an unusual reaction to watching his father put out a potentially dangerous fire outside his neighbor’s house.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, in 2023, local fire departments in the United States responded to approximately 1.39 million fires, which resulted in an estimated $23 billion in property damage.

The fire Jayme Brown and her family witnessed outside their neighbor’s house may not have been very serious, but that was largely due to her husband’s quick thinking.

“Our neighbor’s lawn mower caught fire in front of our house,” said Brown, a Maine native. News week. “We were pulling into our driveway and noticed he was trying to put out the fire under his lawn mower and then the trees and brush caught fire.

She added that her husband thought better of it and “ran home and grabbed a fire extinguisher to help him.”

Eager to capture the “ridiculousness” of it all while she stayed in the car with the kids, ready in case emergency services needed to be called, Brown began filming her husband’s efforts.

However, as she did so, she failed to notice the contribution of their seven-year-old son Kingsley, offered from the safety of the back seat.

“I honestly didn’t even hear what my child said until I watched the video,” she said. “I sent the video to friends and they died (laughing) at my child’s comment!”

In the clip, which she later posted to TikTok under the handle the.chaos.coordinator, Kingsley can be heard excitedly announcing, “Oh wait, this is the place where you can make s’mores! Perfect!”

An on-screen caption reads: “You are a child who only thinks about food while your father is in crisis.” The video went viral, garnering over 640,000 views and people were left angry following his response.

“The mentality I need for 2025,” one joked, while another wrote: “Me when my life is in ruins.”

A third said: “I’m that kind of optimist” and a fourth wrote: “I want to be that indifferent level.” Elsewhere, one user said: “He sees a problem, he fixes a problem.”

Commenting on the popularity of the video, Brown said: “I think it went a bit viral because of his innocence. He felt safe and confident that this fire was no problem! He was still thinking very clearly to food.”

Last year, fire departments responded to fires somewhere in the United States every 23 seconds, according to the National Fire Protection Association.
