Mom of three who lets newborn go to the bathroom: tears over what she comes back to

An Illinois girl melted hearts online for what she was caught doing with her little sister.

Yenn Stanley asked her 15-year-old son to watch Cailey and her little sister, Sky, while she went to the bathroom — and she wasn’t prepared for what she ended up with. In a heartwarming TikTok clip posted on November 23, four-year-old Cailey sits on the couch with Sky in her arms.

The mother of three said News week that when she left the room, Cailey was on her iPad and her eldest was on his phone. “When I came back, I panicked because she was already holding the baby and their brother hadn’t noticed that Cailey had come to pick up their little sister,” she said.

When her mother asked why she came to pick her up, Cailey sweetly replied, “Because I just want to hold her.” At just 12 days old, Sky opened her eyes, Cailey spotted her looking at her and hugged her tightly. “I always wanted a little sister,” Cailey told her mother.

Stanley said News week that she was nervous and scared at first, but allowed her daughter to hold her newborn sister for a few minutes.

“She’s been waiting for him for so long (and) praying for a little brother or sister,” she said.

Stanley’s clip has been viewed nearly 1.5 million times since it was posted four days ago. More than a thousand TikTok users commented on the post, many of whom were other moms who understood Stanley’s initial fear.

“This is adorable but I could sense how nervous you were,” one wrote, while another commented: “Proof that as moms we can’t even go to the toilet.”

Many others commented that the sisterly bond was “beautiful” and congratulated the third-time mom. “They look so comfortable with each other,” one wrote. “Big sisters are the best,” said another.

Towards the end of the clip, it looks like Stanley is having trouble getting Sky back from Cailey. When asked if she could have her back, Cailey said, “No, because sometimes you hold her, she cries.”

After a reminder to be gentle with the newborn, Stanley says, “Give me my baby” in a deep voice, which makes Cailey laugh. “She loves her so much. She always reminds me to be careful because the baby’s bones are fragile. She’s like a mom to her,” Stanley said. News week.
