Vietnam and Hesse strengthen their partnership

(VOVWORLD) – Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised the fruitful relations between Vietnam and Germany in general and between Vietnam and the German state of Hesse in particular, calling on the Hessian authorities to promote the strategic partnership between both countries to a new level and foster political trust in an unstable global and regional landscape.

Xuan was speaking at a reception for Hesse Minister President Boris Rhein’s visit to Hanoi on Wednesday.

She encouraged Hessian companies to invest in Vietnam and support its transition to green growth and climate change mitigation efforts. Ms. Xuan urged Hessen to advocate to the German Parliament to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

Minister President Rhein recognized the potential for further collaboration, particularly in areas that Vietnam needs and where Hesse has strengths, such as education, finance, science, technology, work and renewable energies.

He stressed that Hesse prioritizes the Vietnamese-German university project and will coordinate with Vietnam to promote the growth of the institution.

The two sides agreed to work closely to organize activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations next year.
