Supriya Sule highlights divisions in Mahayuti over controversial motto ‘Batenge Toh Katenge’ |

Nashik/Navi Mumbai: NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule on Thursday said that the BJP and Mahayuti are divided on the slogan “batenge toh katenge”. “The state BJP is divided over party ideology,” she said. “How will he run the government if it is divided on ideology?”
Sule told reporters in Nashik city that although deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis had said one thing about the slogan, some functionaries of the BJP and NCP had objected to it. NCP leader Ajit Pawar and BJP MLC Pankaja Munde categorically said that such a slogan was not necessary in Maharashtra.
Sule slammed the BJP for dividing Shiv Sena and NCP in the state, saying they did so by misusing government agencies such as the Income Tax department, ED and CBI.
To Ajit’s remark that he is “like a son of Sharad Pawar” but the latter “doesn’t pay attention to him these days”, Sule asked: “Who did Sharad Pawar make vice-president? CM four times: me, Rohit or Yugendra? it is not for our family but against injustice in the state. I fight for the people, against inflation, unemployment and corruption.
She then lashed out at Belapur BJP MP Manda Mhatre, who quit the undivided NCP 10 years ago, over a video that allegedly showed her using unparliamentary language with party members and residents. At a rally in Nerul in support of MP Sandeep Naik, NCP (SP) candidate from Belapur, Sule expressed confidence in his victory, citing the contributions of party chief Sharad Pawar in Navi Mumbai. State NCP (SP) chief Jayant Patil said Naik would be given greater responsibilities if MVA formed the government. Naik left the BJP and joined the NCP (SP) last month. -Tushar Pawar and BB Nayak
