Nearly 5,000 employees at eight Hawaii hotels signed new contracts this month, including Hilton Hawaiian Village, Sheraton Waikiki, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Westin Moana Surfrider, Waikiki Beach Marriott, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani , the Sheraton Maui and the Sheraton Kauai.

Hilton Hawaiian Village was the first hotel to settle its contract after a 40-day strike that affected more than 1,800 hotel employees in positions throughout the hotel, such as housekeepers, Front desk attendants, restaurant staff and maintenance workers.

Seven of the eight Hawaii hotels involved in a three-day strike over Labor Day weekend have now settled their contracts, with the exception of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, where about 500 hotels are still operating without a contract and could face strike at any time.
