A number of Glastonbury fans weren’t too happy after the first release with tickets selling out within half an hour.

People took to social media to criticize the music festival over its new queuing system, which many believe is the reason they couldn’t get tickets.

Thousands of enthusiastic fans were seeking ticket packages, including coach travel, for the 2025 edition of the event, as the new ticketing system was only introduced this year and quickly sold out on Thursday evening ( November 14).

The sale began at 6pm last night, as some fans were reportedly “randomly assigned a place in a queue”, instead of needing to refresh the page when tickets went live.

Incredibly strong demand for Glastonbury 2025

Currently, no headliners have been announced for Glastonbury 2025, although demand is expected to be higher than ever for the British music event, which takes place from June 25 to 29 , before missing a 2026 edition.

It didn’t take long for coach tickets to sell out, as the festival team took to their ticketing site to make the announcement.

“Coach tickets for Glastonbury 2025 are now SOLD OUT. General admission ticket sales will take place on Sunday at 9am (GMT),” they said.

Disgruntled fans have taken to X to share their frustrations over the new “no number” system, as one wrote: “Why oh why did you enter this system.” Worse than before. Punters hate that it is out of their control. It’s horrible.

Another said it was “nonsense”, posting: “This ticketing system at Glastonbury shows the country is in deep decline. How can you make an already terrible ticketing system worse with this nonsense?

“Congratulations on somehow managing to make the world’s worst ticket buying process significantly worse. An incredible achievement. They said it couldn’t be done,” a third said sarcastically.

Another user pointed out: “Let’s be honest, the queuing system was terrible. What are they hiding by not giving a number in the queue?

Fans were not given a number and many were left confused (X)

So how does it work, exactly?

Well, a progress bar will reveal how far away they are from the booking page, as fans have been asked not to refresh the page or use multiple devices as their place in the queue could be lost.

When they arrive at the counter, they will need to enter the registration number and zip code of the booker and up to five other friends seeking tickets.

They will then have 10 minutes to finish filling out the page, and upon booking and confirming the names of the people they are purchasing tickets for, they will then be redirected to a payment page, finalizing payment after agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Although bus tickets are sold out, general admission ticket sales will take place as scheduled on Sunday, November 17 at 9 a.m.
