Man dies after serious cat scratch causes fatal bleeding

A 55-year-old Russian man, Dmitry Ukhin, tragically died after a scratch from his cat caused him to bleed uncontrollably.

Ukhin, who suffered from diabetes and poor blood clotting, was reunited with her cat Styopka on November 22, two days after she ran away. The encounter left him with a leg injury so severe that he called a neighbor, fearing for his life.

Despite the neighbor’s efforts to provide first aid, Ukhin succumbed to blood loss before first responders arrived, a delay criticized by his wife, Natalya.

Forensic experts have not yet confirmed the official cause of death. Styopka, described as harmless, remains with an uncertain fate.
