The Chelsea set has never been the same since the 151 closed. Those red fire engine doors once welcomed the likes of Prince Harry, James Hewitt and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson away from the Sloanes along the King’s Road and in a basement nightclub that brought Indie Sleaze to Annabel’s house.

But after Cadogan Estates refused to renew the lease after lockdown, 151 founder Giorgio Burlo was forced to close shop permanently. Memories of nights at “1-Dive-1” seemed to recede into the annals of history faster than Prince Harry descended the club’s fire escape to avoid a paparazzi ambush.

Don’t panic, you Bright Young Things. Piers Adam, SW7’s true nightlife czar, has orchestrated the second coming of 151. As revealed by Richard Eden, Piers, 60, who served as best man when Guy Ritchie married Madonna, is set to relaunch the beloved bar in February. .

“London is the most beautiful city in the world and the King’s Road is the artery of fashion and style,” he told Eden. “151 holds a special place in my heart, as it does for many other Londoners, and I can’t wait to reopen it. We want people to feel that they don’t need to go to the West End to pass a good evening.

And if history repeats itself, it certainly won’t. While Chelsea has become somewhat anemic of late – thanks to the westward urban sprawl of the more spotted financial sibling – 151 was once the bastion of a royally wild night on the town. In 1985, the opening night took place in the presence of the “Conquistador of the Canape circuit”, Baronet Dai Llewellyn, alongside Princess Diana’s former lover, James Hewitt.
