Reflecting on this turbulent phase, Ira Khan revealed how she and her brother helped Aamir see things from a different perspective.

Ira Khan is the daughter of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta.

Aamir Khan once considered quitting acting permanently during the pandemic, but his family, especially his children Ira and Junaid Khan, persuaded him otherwise. Reflecting on this turbulent phase, Ira revealed how she and her brother helped Aamir see things from a different perspective.

Speaking on the Pinkvilla podcast, Ira shared, “We (Junaid and I) basically tried to tell him that he doesn’t need to take extreme decisions. He doesn’t have to go from one extreme to the other. He just needs to relax, take a deep breath and decide next week. »

This candid advice came at a time when Aamir was considering walking away from the film industry altogether. Ira further explained, “He was trying to figure out whether or not he wanted to quit movies, and then he decided we should spend some time together.”

Recalling a particularly memorable moment, Ira said: “He came to the Agatsu Foundation office and I spent a lot of time talking to him about the many, many problems I was facing. Once I finished, he said, “I don’t know what to do.” I thought, “Damn, he was supposed to solve my problems for me!” »

While Aamir had initially planned to retire from his career, Ira joked that his struggles might have inspired him to return to films. “He got involved and is now on the advisory board. But above all, he went back to making films. Twice a year I call them and tell them what happened. I think that meeting must have inspired him, and he said to himself: “No, no, work. I’m just going to start making movies again.'”

Since then, Aamir has gradually returned to the forefront. Her upcoming projects include Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Genelia D’Souza and Darsheel Safary, and Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. He is also in discussions for a potential superhero film with Lokesh Kanagaraj and a sequel to the 2008 hit Ghajini.
