A Season 15 Contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race is the latest to express his “regrets” for appearing on the popular reality competition series.

Former Miss Congeniality Says She ‘Regretted’ Being on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on November 27, Malaysia Babydoll FoxxA RuPaul’s Drag Race fan favorite, responded to those who thought her public call-out of another former contestant was a way to “stay relevant,” leading her to share that she “regretted” appearing on the show.

“If I could be completely honest, there were times when I regretted doing the show because of how much people shamed me for everything I did on it,” Foxx said.

“I am constantly reminded of my failures, and never of the triumphs where I come from (or those I have inspired) which have never been seen (on Drag racing),” she continued.

Foxx arrived 8th place in the season and has never won a challenge. However, she was voted for by her comrades Drag racing competing as Miss Congeniality in the grand finale.

Foxx, who won the title of Miss Congeniality on season 15 of RuPaul’s Drag Racefirst expressed that she no longer associates with someone she defines as a “miserable ignorant bitch”.

This led some to believe that the target of Foxx’s ire was Mistress Isabelle Brooks, another season 15 personality whose initials match the phrase Foxx used.

“For those of you who think my (posts) need to stay relevant because a new season of Drag racing arrived. Please stop,” she wrote, as reported RoseNews.

“I’m at my lowest point and the last thing I need is attention from the people who have literally tormented me,” she continued. “I expressed (this) outside of apps as well.”

Claiming she willingly chose “peace” over “fame and relevance” to follow Drag racing In turn, Foxx then explained how often she was reminded of her poor results on the show.

Foxx joins other ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ queens who are questioning their place in drag (or leaving it altogether)

Foxx joins an ever-growing list of alumni RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants who express unhappiness after participating in the franchise or choose to give up the art of drag for good.

The most recent is LaLa Ri, another fan favorite who competed in season 13 and the 8th cycle of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars. Although they have not publicly expressed any regrets about the series, they have spoken about a period of depression about their “identity” that caused them to reconsider their place as an artist.

“I never intended to have a full-fledged drag career,” LaLa said in a recent interview, adding:

“Drag was just a different way for me to perform (in). It exploded, I went upstairs RuPaul’s Drag Raceand it took off from there. Even doing All Stars, I wanted to be there because the opportunity and the platform (is) amazing, but I didn’t want to (hang around). I was going through a phase of depression at the time, I wanted to be on television and I loved the times when I was no longer in drag, but the times in drag, I was completely done with that.

Former queens Vivienne Pinay and Honey Mahogany, who competed in Season 5 and left the competition during the show’s first-ever “double sashay” (elimination), have also left the drag scene. Mahogany is now a political activist in San Francisco, while Pinay seems to completely disappear from the map.

Another Season 15 contestant, Princess Poppy, shocked fans when — after a two-month hiatus from social media while her season aired — announced she would also be leaving the drag scene.

“I want to disappear from the planet. I don’t want to be famous. I want to sink into darkness,” she said in a post in January.

A controversial but popular viral video of a Drag racing Staple sheds light on how the show transformed the art of drag and made it difficult for some to thrive in their careers.

Jasmine Masters, who appeared during season 7 and again on All stars 4claimed in a 2016 YouTube rant that the show often catered to queens who focused more on the illusion of beauty than the overall talent needed to build a career.

RuPaul’s Drag Race fucked up drag. At the end of the day, it’s cut and dried,” believes Masters, going on to say:

“Now sluts wear panties and bras on stage and think they’re disgusting, and (the) audience thinks they’re disgusting because they were on the show.”

“I’m not criticizing the way people want to express themselves in drag, but that’s not the kind of drag I know,” she continued.
