While many are disappointed, very few succeed and are able to maintain it further. Former actor Girish Kumar is an example. He gained sudden fame at age 24, but surprisingly decided to leave Bollywood soon after and pursued a career in business.

Girish Kumar made his acting debut alongside Shruti Haasan in the 2013 film Ramaiya Vastavaiya. The film was produced by his father, film producer Kumar Taurani, who owns Tips Industries. Girish received a lot of praise for his performance and quickly became a new ‘chocolate boy’ with a huge fan following, especially among girls. Although the film was moderately successful at the box office, it established Girish as another rising star.

After his second film Loveshhuda, Girish decided to leave Bollywood. This decision had no impact at the box office. Following this, in 2018, he played a role in Collateral Damage, a short film focusing on the concept of outdated village practices. After a brief appearance in the 2018 film, Girish Kumar left acting. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Tips Industries, which runs a Rs 4,700 crore company. He is actively involved in film distribution and production and has contributed to projects such as Ponniyin Selvan series and Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas.

In 2016, Girish Kumar secretly married his childhood sweetheart, Krishna. He kept his marriage a secret for years, fearing that the marriage label would destroy his career and affect his image as a romantic hero. Later, he openly expressed his love for Krna and declared his relationship to the whole world.
