NEW DELHI: Australia fine-tune bowling strategies for Adelaide Day-night Test against IndiaThe top-order batters of, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. This follows Australia’s defeat in the first Test held in Perth. Scott Bolanda seasoned pace bowler, will likely replace injured Josh Hazlewood in Adelaide. Despite the adjustments, Boland assures that there is no panic within the Australian team.
Hazlewood’s lateral tension creates a void in the Australian bowling attack. Boland, at 35, is expected to fill that gap, bringing his expertise in the tight ends against India’s impressive batting line-up.

After rain washed out the opening match between India and the Australian Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra, Boland spoke to reporters, acknowledging the need for minor revisions to strategy.
“We’ve talked as a team about our plans for all the different Indian hitters. I won’t tell you them, but we have some pretty specific plans. They might have a little tweak after the guys see them again from Perth ” said Boland.

Despite the first Test defeat, Boland highlighted a calm atmosphere in the Australian dressing room. He assures that the team analyzes individual performances and aims for improvement, but there are no major concerns.

“There is absolutely no panic in our locker room. There will obviously be discussions around individual performances, and everyone really wants to perform well in every game they play,” he said.
He further reiterates that this loss is just a simple setback. “But yeah, it feels like we lost a game.”

Indian top-order batters displayed excellent form in the Perth Test. Jaiswal’s 161 and Rahul’s 77 formed an opening record 201 runs on Australian soil, followed by Virat Kohli’s 30th Test century. Boland acknowledged the strong performance of India’s openers.
“Obviously, (Yashasvi) Jaiswal batted really well there. KL Rahul also batted well in the second innings and really dug in,” Boland noted.
“So we’ll probably discuss it next week and our plans might change slightly, but I’m pretty confident that what we did in the first game was good.”
The Australian trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood struggled to contain India’s second innings. Boland defended his teammates, attributing the difference in performance to the longer break Indian bowlers enjoy between innings.
“I think our bowlers also bowled very well. Perhaps the only difference was that the Indian bowlers had a very long break between their first and second innings, whereas our break was not that long,” -he explained.
Boland credits his return to competition to his meticulous rehabilitation process. He stressed a cautious approach to avoid further injury.
“I worked really hard in the off-season to get my body to a point where I’m confident that if I get another chance I can play for Australia again. I didn’t want to rush anything and risk injury again, so we took my rehab pretty slowly,” he shared.
