Judy Ann Santos Recalls 2005 BIR Case: “Lesson Learned”

Judy Ann Santos went through this problem that almost made her leave showbiz

Drama queen Judy Ann Santos recalled the case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in 2005.

Judy Ann, also known as Juday, has been in the industry for almost 40 years. She started her acting career at a very young age and her journey in showbiz is the proof of how she has managed to achieve longevity in the industry.

The actress has never been involved in any major controversies except one. It was around this time that the BIR filed charges against her for her alleged violation of the Tax Reform Act of 1997 or Section 255 of Republic Act No. 8424.

In a recent interview, based on the PEP article, Judy Ann Santos recalled the most difficult time she experienced in showbiz that almost pushed her to quit.

She admitted that at that time her mind was so clouded that there was a lot of intrigue and she felt like she was going to fall. “Parang feel like the most beautiful problem of reason, the most beautiful problem that made me want to quit was not yet against the BIR. Iyon talaga yung parang hindi ko matanggap na, ‘Anong nangyayari?“,” she shared.

She also faced scrutiny from people, even if they didn’t know what really happened. Juday began her career in showbiz when she was just eight years old. She pointed out that at that age she could never know about taxes.

In this difficult situation, Judy Ann said she learned an important lesson. “But then again, lesson learned, maybe it is. Parang yun nga e, bibigyan ka ng un matinding challenge ni Lord, para ma-realize mo na, ‘Kasi ito anak, medyo nakakalimot ka na, “ says the actress.

Currently, the actress follows a system when it comes to her finances and her lawyers help her with her contracts. With what happened to her, Juday said she had to go through this to know the legalities of her career as an artist.

Judy Ann Santos admitted that this chapter of her life was truly intense. Fortunately, she was able to surpass herself and continue to practice her profession as an actress.
