I’m A Celebrity star sparks fears he’ll quit show as he bursts into tears after hellish night

I’M A Celebrity fans fear Melvin Odoom will quit the show after camp morale hits an all-time low.

The Australian jungle has been hit with rainy weather throughout this series, with an overnight storm leaving the camp waterlogged and attracting frogs and rats.

The situation became so bad that Ant and Dec were almost unable to get to their studio for Saturday night’s show as the roads were flooded.

In tonight’s episode, after another particularly bad night, the camp wondered how much longer they could handle this.

But DJ Melvin Odoom, who was sleeping on a hammock, appeared to have a particularly difficult time overnight, with all of his belongings and sleeping bag soaked.

As a result, he had to move and spend the night at the Bush Telegraph.

Explaining what happened to him, he told camp comrades: “I woke up, my sleeping bag was wet, my clothes were wet, everything. »

Breaking down in tears, Melvin was supported by his co-stars, with Barry McGuigan offering him a hug and some words to keep his spirits up.

“Everything will be okay, everything will be okay,” Barry told him.

“We are all here for you, whenever you would like us to help you or talk to you in any way. You can do it, you’re a badass, I’m telling you! »

Oti Mabuse also rushed to help her pal, also providing him with comfort and a pep talk reminding him: “Everyone will be proud of you, I promise.” It’s okay, you’re human.

“Remember why we are here,” she told him. “The reason you and I insist is because this is bigger than you and me and we have to constantly remind ourselves why we are here, what we stand for, and who is watching us. And what it means when we do well.

“Do you know what that means? This is why we wake up every day.

The words reached Melvin, who asked her to stay with him while he got himself together.

“I’ll stay here as long as you need, I won’t go anywhere, I’ll have you until the end,” she told him.

But his emotional moment left fans fearing Oti’s support might not be enough, and if time continues he could withdraw prematurely from the public vote.

“Melvin broke my heart, bless him. He needed that cry then,” one viewer wrote.

“Oh my god I want to give Melvin a huge hug,” said a second, while a third wrote: “Can we vote for a surprise visit from Carol Vorderman to cheer Melvin up”

“Someone from the production team needs to check in with Melvin, please!” » noted a fourth.

“This level of defeat is so understandable that Melvin has been working his butt off at this camp doing group work by himself, then he wakes up soaked and has to go sleep in a small shed,” wrote a fifth.

The gang are in the final week of I’m A Celebrity, with elimination every night until the final next Sunday.

Jane Moore became the first star to go on Friday night, and since then she has made no secret of her disappointment.

But she hoped Melvin would be one of the stars who made it to the end, calling him a “hard worker” compared to some of the others still on the show.
