Cooler Master GM25FP 180Hz Gaming Monitor Review

Cooler Master GM25FP 180Hz Gaming Monitor Review

I’m a big fan of the Cooler Master monitors and have used them on my desk for a few years now, and my partner and one of my children also use the Cooler Master monitors. That should tell you something about their quality and value, and I’m very happy with them all. Alas, the relentless pursuit of smoother gameplay and more immersive visuals is driving the evolution of gaming monitors. For those looking for a competitive edge without breaking the bank, the 1080p Arena strikes a fine balance between performance and affordable price. Cooler Master’s GM25FP is here and, armed with a 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, it promises smooth, fluid motion that can keep up with the latest competitive games. Best of all, it does it at a very reasonable price, so maybe another Cooler Master monitor will be added to my collection sometime soon!?

But high refresh rates alone don’t guarantee a winning formula. The GM25FP also features an IPS panel, a technology favored for its vivid colors and wide viewing angles, aimed not only at gamers but also at content creators and those looking for good color reproduction and good contrast. Of course, they can’t compete with the new Mini-LED and OLED panels, but at the same time, it’s a proven technology and much more affordable too. Additionally, it features a 180Hz refresh rate with Adaptive-Sync technology that further mitigates possible stuttering and tearing.

While I don’t expect this to be the best gaming monitor ever made, I think it’s pretty clear that Cooler Master is trying to check a lot of boxes here for avid gamers on a tighter budget. The cost is reduced due to the panel technology used (of course there’s nothing wrong with IPS), 180Hz is fast, but it’s not the fastest on the market these days, and it’s only Full HD, which admittedly has a lot of pixels. for a smaller 24.5″ screen anyway. So yes, it’s clear that this monitor has its limitations, but at the same time, it’s a great number of features that should also make for a more than enjoyable gaming experience.

  • 24.5 inch screen size: A good size for gaming and general use, providing ample screen space without being bulky.
  • Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080): Standard resolution for this size, providing a sharp image.
  • Fast IPS panel: Combines the advantages of IPS technology (good color accuracy and wide viewing angles) with a fast response time.
  • 180Hz refresh rate: This high refresh rate ensures smooth movements, especially visible in fast-paced games.
  • 1ms GTG response time: Minimizes motion blur for clear visuals, even during fast action.
  • Adaptive sync technology: Synchronizes the monitor’s refresh rate with your graphics card’s output to eliminate screen tearing.
  • HDR10 support: Offers a wider dynamic range with brighter highlights and deeper blacks for more realistic visuals (but keep in mind that maximum monitor brightness will affect HDR performance).
  • 1000:1 static contrast ratio: A correct contrast ratio for an IPS panel, allowing a good distinction between light and dark areas.
  • Brightness 250 cd/m²: Suitable for most indoor lighting conditions.
  • Wide viewing angles (178° horizontal/178° vertical): Allows comfortable viewing from different positions without significant color change.
  • Multiple connectivity options: Includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports for connecting various devices.
  • Low Blue Light Mode and Flicker-Free Technology: Helps reduce eye fatigue during prolonged use.
  • 36 month warranty: Provides peace of mind and protection against defects.
