Chloe Ferris, Lux: Tributes pour in after woman’s sudden death at Belfast nightclub

Chloe Ferris, in her 20s, died early Sunday morning after an incident at Lux nightclub.

Emergency services were called around 2:20 a.m. following reports of two unconscious women.

It is understood Ms Ferris – a beauty technician from Belfast – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other woman, believed to be a friend of Ms Ferris, remains in hospital.

Police are investigating and said investigations are at a very early stage.

An obituary described Ms. Ferris as the “loved daughter of Declan and Sharon, beloved sister of Christopher, Declan and Barry, beloved aunt, niece, cousin, part of the ‘Sister Squad’ and friend of many.”

Lux Nightclub

Many of the young woman’s devastated friends paid tribute to her, with one describing her as “beautiful inside and out”.

A friend wrote online: “The kindest friend with the purest soul. Glad to have been your friend.

Another said: “Heartbreaking. Chloe was the most beautiful person, both inside and out.

“Thinking of his friends and family at this very sad time.”

Beauty training academy Enhance Belfast also posted a tribute online: “Absolutely heartbreaking, our lovely student Chloe.

“I send so much love to his family and friends.”

Ms Ferris’ former primary school, St Clare’s PS in Belfast, expressed its condolences online, adding: “Thinking of one of our former pupils who passed away suddenly today, Chloe Ferris. Deepest condolences to his mother, father and brothers at this heartbreaking time, from all staff, past and present.

Sinn Féin councilor Claire Canavan said it was “devastating” news.

“It is absolutely tragic that a young woman lost her life so suddenly. I want to extend my deepest condolences to the Ferris and Dynes families and friends as they come to terms with this heartbreaking news,” she said.

SDLP councilor Gary McKeown added: “This is terrible news, and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased woman.

“For something like this to happen is tragic, but it’s particularly poignant at this time of year.”

Sinn Féin MP Órlaithí Flynn also added her sympathies.

The West Belfast MP said: “I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn that a young woman lost her life early on Sunday morning in Belfast city centre.

“This is an absolute tragedy and I would like to offer my deepest condolences to this woman’s family and friends who today learned of this unthinkable and heartbreaking news. My thoughts are also with another woman and her loved ones as she remains in hospital today undergoing treatment.

“Police have asked anyone who could help with their investigation to contact them.”

Hospitality Ulster chief executive Colin Neill said it was deeply distressing news.

“No one should ever go out at night without going home,” he said.

“While we await further information, we express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased woman. Our thoughts are also with the woman who remains in hospital.
