Marlon Brando pulled an incredible April Fool’s prank on his neighbor Jack Nicholson – News

While April Fool’s Day may not be an occasion that the majority of us mark on a new calendar, it’s certainly a fun day for pranksters.

Whether it’s something a little crueler like telling your family you’re expecting a baby or telling your friends you won the lottery, there are plenty of pranks to pull.

Up there, one of the most incredible April Fool’s pranks surely belongs to Jack Nicholson, after he pulled a genius prank on Marlon Brando while they lived next door to each other.

In fact, this April 1 prank involved a whopping $15 million in cash.

Susan Sarandon told the story in an interview with The Times, explaining how the couple lived on Mulholland Drive in New York.

“You would just see these extraordinary paintings worth millions, hanging on the wall next to each other,” Sarandon said of Nicholson’s home.

She then explained that Brando had lived next door “for years,” and that the two shared a gate and saw a garden that merged.

Sarandon then recalled the April Fool’s prank that Brando played on his neighbor.

“Sometimes Brando would walk right into Jack’s house and take things out of his refrigerator,” Sarandon said.

“Jack put a lock on it. They had a big problem. But Jack had always said, ‘If you ever sell your house, let me know.’ So Brando calls one day and says, ‘All right, I’m going to sell my house but that’s the problem. You have to have $15 million in a bag at the end of my driveway in three days.’

Sarandon added that the exact sum may not be exactly $15 million, but it was certainly in the millions.

Nonetheless, the prank was awesome.

“Jack says, ‘But you know the banks are going to be closed. How am I going to make it Sunday night?'” Sarandon continued.

Nicholson apparently went into something of a frenzy after that, calling everyone he knew to try to raise money.

“He goes crazy and starts finding money,” Sarandon continued. “He goes through all the machinations.”

This all happened on a Friday, and on Sunday, Nicholson called Brando to tell him he had several million.

Sarandon continued: “He calls Brando back. He says, ‘OK, I got it, I got it. I’ll put it at the bottom of your driveway.’ And Brando says, “Hey Jack, what’s up today?”
