State seeks order to suspend ‘Joy Bangla’ as national slogan

DHAKA, December 02, 2024 (BSS) – The State has pleaded to stay the High Court (HC) order which declared “Joy Bangla” as the national slogan of Bangladesh.

Confirming the information to reporters, Additional Solicitor General Aneek Rushd Haque said the petition in this regard has been filed with the concerned wing of the Appellate Division and it is likely to be heard on Sunday (08-12 -24) next.

On March 10, 2020, the High Court passed the order declaring “Joy Bangla” as the national slogan of the country.

A High Court bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order, declaring absolute a rule issued earlier in this regard.
