Man jailed after what police found on his phone

A Bootle man has been jailed for five years after admitting being involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin. Keith Tallant, 41, of Benedict Street, pleaded guilty to four offenses and was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, November 29.

He was convicted of: participating in the supply of heroin; being concerned about the supply of crack cocaine; possession with intent to supply heroin; and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

Operation Toxic officers launched an investigation into a Class A drug supply operation between Bootle and Southport from May to October 2024. Tallant was identified as the main suspect and a warrant was executed for his arrest. home in October where a cell phone controlling the drug plot was recovered along with a quantity of heroin and crack cocaine.

He was later arrested and charged with various offenses. Operation Toxic is part of Project Medusa – a Merseyside-led initiative set up to tackle suspected drug trafficking and child criminal exploitation in County Lines across the country.

Detective Sergeant Ged Farley said: “We identified Tallant as the person behind this drugs operation and, due to the weight of the evidence we were able to produce, he pleaded guilty to the offences. We know the devastation caused by drugs and Merseyside Police are relentless in pursuing these criminals and stopping their drug dealing.

“Project Medusa and teams across the force work day in and day out to combat drug trafficking and the exploitation of young people and vulnerable people in our communities. Informing the public is essential to continuing to dismantle the organized crime groups that bring misery to our streets, and I am calling on anyone with information to come forward.
