Adam Brody Details Life With Leighton Meester: ‘I’m A Lucky Guy’

Adam Brody‘s big comeback has been one of the unexpected joys of 2024, with the actor appearing as the “cute rabbi” opposite Kristen Bell in the Netflix hit Nobody wants that — but, unfortunately for everyone who suddenly realized they never really got over Seth Cohen, Brody is perfectly happy with his wife. Leighton Meester.

In an interview with the British magazine Stylist posted on Tuesday (December 3), the OC alum, 44, opened up about how beautiful her life is right now — with a beyond-adorable festive photoshoot in which her wedding ring is extremely visible.

“Despite the state of the world, I feel like I’m living my best life,” he said. “I have a beautiful dream family life. I have a good work-life balance and spend a lot of time with my children. I’m in this very beautiful period of middle age where I’m old enough to have seniority and job security, but also still have enough of my body to be active and do whatever I want. I’m a lucky guy.

The star also said that he and Gossip Girl veteran Meester, 38, loves partying with friends during the holiday season. “I don’t do it a lot, but I’m a good host if I do say so myself,” he said. “It’s usually a blur because I’m running around and making sure everyone is having a good time. But if we go to someone else’s house, I like to think I’m making good conversation. My wife and I have a dynamic: I’ll be the one to get us there on time, but she’ll be the last to leave, long after I’ve started looking forward to getting home. So between us, we are committed. We don’t stay there for an hour: if you have us, you have us.

And just when a million thirsty millennials thought he couldn’t pass out any more, the actor also said he loves catching a glimpse of Meester across a crowded room. “When you’re somewhere in public, there’s something very nice about seeing the person you’re across the room with talking to someone else,” he said. “It’s a totally different perspective and, ideally, it’s very charming and flattering. In my case, this is definitely the case.

The couple has been married for a decade and shares two children: a 9-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son.

Brody added that the success of Nobody wants thatwhich was renewed for a second season, was “a great joy” – and we couldn’t agree more. “It’s exciting,” he said. “It’s this very positive, loving, life-affirming and, in many ways, escapist story, set in the middle of a very tense geopolitical time. Most people, myself included, find ways to enjoy the present moment, even when things are looking pretty big.

Brody also said that while he is known for playing really good guys, he also wouldn’t rule out playing a bad guy one day. “It’s not like my mandate is to only play good characters,” he said. “I’m just as happy to play toxic characters as long as we know they are. What I don’t want to do is insidiously play a “hero” who is actually bullshit and who reinforces negative ideals.”

To top it all off, the actor also revealed that he made an amazing breakfast. “I make an omelet or matzah brei where I break matzah crackers into scrambled eggs or I make French toast with challah bread,” he said. Meester is a lucky, lucky woman.
