Two men in their 20s arrested on suspicion of ‘drug offences’ after young woman dies outside Belfast nightclub

TWO men, aged in their 20s, have been arrested in connection with the death of a young woman who died suddenly at a nightclub this weekend.

Chloe Ferris, also aged in her twenties, sadly died early on Sunday morning at Lux nightclub in Belfast city center after “falling unconscious”.

The beautician sadly died before emergency services arrived at the scene after police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the nightclub at around 2.20am following reports that two women had fallen unconscious.

The other woman was taken to hospital and is believed to be still receiving treatment there.

The PSNI today confirmed it has made two arrests as part of its investigation into Chloe’s death.

The two arrested men were arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

They have since been released on police bail to “allow further investigations”.

The PSNI continued to appeal for information about the incident and urged anyone who could help with its investigation to come forward.

They said: “Police continue to appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact them on 101 or submit information online.”

Lux nightclub said in a statement that its “focus now is on assisting the police with their investigation and the welfare of our staff.”

He added: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the parents and family during this very difficult time.”

Chloe, who was a beautician, is remembered as the “beloved daughter” of Declan and Sharon, the “loved sister” of Christopher, Declan and Barry, a “beloved aunt”, ‘a cousin niece, part of the ‘sister team’ and a ‘friend to many’.

An online obituary added: “Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul.

“Deeply regretted by his heartbroken mother, father and everyone around him.”

The tragic young woman is resting until Thursday and will leave that morning at 11:45 a.m. to arrive at St. Paul’s Church for a requiem mass at 1 p.m.

It will be followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery.
