EastEnders set to air TWO Christmas Day episodes for first time since 2008

EASTENDERS is set to have TWO episodes on Christmas Day for the first time since 2008.

The BBC is yet to confirm schedules for the Christmas and New Year period, but eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the program has been added to the EPGs (electronic program guides).

And they could have a treat – two of them.

Instead of the soap having only one special episode to watch, this year there will be two chances to watch it.

The first episode will air at 7.25pm on BBC One, then viewers will face an agonizing three-hour wait until the second.

It will be broadcast after the turning point around 10:30 p.m. according to the EPG details.

It comes as soap bosses teased Christmas in Walford with an upcoming cuddle storyline.

Cindy Beale’s affair with her former stepson Junior is set to be revealed in an explosive way.

THE teasing reads: “Secrets and lies are about to throw a wrecking ball into the Beale family festivities this year as the shocking truth about Cindy is dramatically revealed on Christmas Day.

“The incriminating evidence recorded on tape will reveal Cindy’s true love for her ex-husband George and her scandalous affair with her son Junior. Cindy has nowhere to hide as all hell breaks loose in the Beale and Knight families, with fury and accusations flying from all sides.

The Sun also exclusively revealed that Phil Mitchell will be at the center of a major Christmas storyline as his mental health the struggles threaten to overwhelm him.

And speculation is rife about the return of brother Grant, played by Ross Kemp.

A source said: “Could Grant be the one to save him? It would be a ratings success.
