The three leaders – Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar – showed a sign of victory after staking claim to form the state government. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as Maharashtra CM on December 5.

Addressing a press conference soon after meeting the governor, Eknath Shinde said Devendra Fadnavis had recommended his name two-and-a-half years ago and today he was supporting him.

Asked if he and NCP chief Ajit Pawar would also take oath as deputy CMs tomorrow, Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde said, “Wait until evening…”

Responding to Shinde, NCP chief Ajit Pawar said, “Sham tak unka samaj aayega, I will take it (oath), I will not wait.”

Replying to NCP chief Pawar, Shinde said, “Dada (Ajit Pawar) has the habit of taking (oath) in the morning and evening. »

Ajit Pawar mocked Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde when Eknath Shinde responded to a media query on whether he would take oath as deputy CM, saying he (Ajit Pawar) would take oath and that Eknath Shinde could take some time and decide by evening. Everyone burst into laughter at the press conference after the Mahayuti alliance was asked to form the government.

Earlier in the day, Fadnavis was unanimously elected as the leader of the Maharashtra BJP legislature party. A meeting of the BJP legislature party was held here at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan to elect its leader, who is expected to take over as the next chief minister of the state.

The BJP central committee chose Fadnavis as its leader. Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar formally appointed Fadnavis as the party’s legislative leader. “I am appointing Devendra Saritatai Gangadharrao Fadnavis as the leader of the legislative wing of the party,” they announced.

State BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule said they all participated in a historic election led by Devendra Fadanvis and won a historic mandate for the Mahayuti alliance.

“We are determined to take Maharashtra to the first place with the help of Prime Minister Modi. We must thank the millions of people of Maharashtra for contesting 149 seats and winning 132, which is the most highest in history. Our allies also won 57 and 41. 7 MPs also gave us their support, so we will have 237 Mahayuti members in this Assembly,” Bawankule said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Ashish Shelar will be the party’s chief whip. BJP’s central observers for the state, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani were present in today’s meeting.
