I’m speechless at these 12 people who literally had no idea what their vote for Trump meant

As Donald Trump officially takes office in 2025, there have been a few viral instances of people learning what their vote actually means.

As there have been many examples circulating the internet, I wanted to know if this was common or just a few viral cases. So I asked the BuzzFeed community to share if they had any similar instances where someone they knew realized what they voted for and now regretted their vote.

Here’s what everyone shared:

1.“My fellow government contractor who voted for Trump and then found out after the election that he intended to lay off federal contractors on day one. Oops.”

2.“I am a fifth grade teacher and have a number of special needs students who benefit from 504 plans, IEPs, and other disability-friendly accommodations. Many parents at my school voted for Trump because they thought he would lower the cost of living and/or because he was more anti-abortion than Kamala Harris.”

“Now that Trump has won, and we have warned parents that we cannot guarantee that accommodations for students with special needs will still work as they do now because the Department of Education is about to cut it, they are freaking out. They didn’t realize that their child would be personally affected by the dismantling of the Ministry of Education. They are begging us to do something so that their child can keep their accommodation!

3.“Several people I know had no idea that Obamacare and the ACA were one and the same. Very rude awakening.”

5.“I’m a tax advisor. I met with a client yesterday and recommended to her that if she had proposed capital expenditures planned for 2025, she might consider doing them before the tariffs came into effect. She m ‘asked what I meant. I was the first to explain to her who pays the customs duties (hint: it’s not China. She was crushed, realizing that the magical economy to which). she expected would probably come true not.

6.“I live in a very red state, as in 3:1 red to blue voters. At work, everyone was talking about the election up to and during the election, all very pleased with themselves and their Red Victory However, the discussions at work have gone silent since cabinet nominations started being announced, as if no one wants to discuss the hilarious choices Trump has made for his cabinet.

“The only thing that’s been said so far is this guy in the National Guard who was watching TV and thinking out loud with a defeated sigh, ‘Well, I guess even I , I am qualified to be Secretary of Defense these days. ” “

My grandmother is shocked, just shocked he would target trans people, “I didn’t think he would do that,” she says, she says she regrets it, “But what can I do now?”

My dad’s friend (let’s call him Bob) said, ‘Since Trump won, I bet you’re upset about the tariffs and the economy, right?” And my dad, who voted for Harris, said, “No. I worry about minorities like: *insert my name*. He’s trans and autistic and receives help from the school part of a GIEP plan, and Trump is going to accept this I’m also worried about my daughter, because what happens if she has an unwanted pregnancy or if she is raped and becomes pregnant as a result. about that? He grumbled for about a minute, and Bob said, “Oh, Bob has a daughter, and I don’t think he even thought about the pregnancy aspect either.”

Most of them have never understood how commerce or imported products work and are now stunned to discover that their grocery bills won’t get any better. They didn’t realize they had put a convicted felon, a man who seemed to think he was above the law, into the White House, and they are now questioning them. choice. Good luck to all of us.

Well he has mental health issues and was imprisoned for 15 years. tonight that, apparently, he never was naturalized after they adopted him.
