QVC recalls 1.1 million pairs of oven gloves after more than 90 people suffered burns

QVC has recalled approximately 1.1 million pairs of oven mitts because the items pose a burn hazard.

A a notice regarding the recall was issued Thursday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which said West Chester, Pa.-based QVC had received 162 reports of “insufficient thermal protection” — including 92 reports of minor burns.

These are Temp-tations oven mitts made in China and sold through the trade network in single pairs, sets of two, and sets with drying mats or trivets.

The recalled oven mitts were sold in a variety of colors, including summer blue, yellow, red, floral and shell prints, according to the recall notice. They are made of cotton and spandex and come in small and large sizes.

They were sold under the following model numbers: K51459, K76398, K47973, K48879, K85322, K96004, K92603, K308719, K309220, K309388 and K309516. “Temp-tations by Tara” is printed on a label sewn inside the gloves.

The oven gloves were sold on QVC.com, QVC TV shows, and QVC digital shopping platforms between August 2018 and August 2024 for between approximately $4 and $13 per pair, and in bundled sets with other items from kitchen for between about $14 and $26 per set. according to the recall notice.

Consumers were asked to immediately stop using the oven mitts and contact QVC for a refund.
