Stephen King’s Strategy for Overcoming Writer’s Block Is What George RR Martin Needs for ‘The Winds of Winter’

Stephen King’s Strategy for Overcoming Writer’s Block Is What George RR Martin Needs for ‘The Winds of Winter’

We are all disappointed to learn that George RR Martin is still not done with The winds of winter even after more than a decade since he started writing it, there is still hope for the author to finish it. All he needs to do is follow Stephen King’s writing strategy to get things done.

King is one of the most popular writers in the world, known for his horror novels. He has over sixty books in total, and many of these titles have been adapted for the big screen. To produce this number of books, King has his own mantra that Martin should hear so he can finally finish his upcoming sixth novel.

George RR Martin must follow Stephen King’s writing style

In his conversation with Squirefamous author Stephen King shared some life lessons that he has learned over the years and when it comes to writing, he noted that it is a daily activity that must be done without fail.

I have to work every day because I have to keep it cool. If you take a few days off, everything starts to look a little cheesy, like an old campaign poster passed around in the rain.

Indeed, a writer must constantly keep his ideas fresh. The brain is a muscle that needs to be exercised, and writing is a great way to get your creativity flowing. George RR Martin has been accused by fans of slacking when it comes to his highly anticipated novel The winds of winter.

He started working on it in 2010, but because he has been involved in several live-action projects – from Game of Thrones has Dragon House – he didn’t have time to sit down and pick up his pen.

The 76-year-old writer must give priority to the end of his novel. He may have written a previous book called Fire and blood during the time Game of Thrones was aired because he was no longer very attached to the series in the last few seasons. He can certainly do that now that he’s hinted he’s not that involved in Dragon House following his long rant about season 2.

King’s writing advice will surely be helpful to Martin and I hope he publishes his book as soon as possible.

Martin finally provided fans with the latest update on the book via THR although it’s not as promising as expected. Although the author still feels this is a major concern for him, he also acknowledges that he may never finish it.

This remains a priority. Many people already write obituaries for me. (They say) ‘Oh, he’ll never finish.’ Maybe they’re right. I don’t know. I’m alive right now! I look pretty vital!

There is still time to refine your novel. All Martin had to do was rekindle his interest and dedicate a few hours each day to writing. As King mentioned, he has to keep his ideas fresh.
