Chandigarh: two men accused of hurling crude bombs on Friday, two nightclubs in Sector 26 were brought to the city from Hisar.
The accused were identified as Vinay and Ajit. A local court granted a six-day delay pre-trial detention by police for further interrogation.
Sources revealed that the suspects were planning to flee to Rajasthan. “As they prepared to flee to Rajasthan, the criminal branch of the Chandigarh Police“, in a joint operation with Haryana Police, apprehended them from Hisar after a brief encounter on November 29, 2024,” a police officer said.
During the encounter, the accused were shot in the leg and were later admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. As the doctors released them, a crime branch team formally arrested them and took them to the city for further questioning.
“A day before throwing bombs at two clubs in Sector 26, the two accused, Vinay and Ajit, had stayed at an associate’s house in Kharar with a packet of two crude bombs.
