Predictions Germany vs Bosnia and Herzegovina

We’re currently only two-thirds of the way through the 2024/25 Nations League group stage, but Germany have already booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Julian Nagelsmann’s team is one of only two teams to have already reached the round of 16 of League A. Spain is also qualified with two days remaining.

It’s appropriate. Germany and Spain were arguably the two best teams at Euro 2024.

At first glance, this may seem like a strange statement when it comes to the former. Germany was the only host nation this summer, but was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

Spain, future champions, was the team that eliminated them. Germany handed them their toughest match of the tournament, with Mikel Merino finally eliminating the hosts with a goal in the penultimate minute of extra time.

Before that, Germany had played some of the best football in the competition. Like Spain, they were intelligently coached, resembling in many ways a club team.

However, Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan retired after the Euros and Nagelsmann was tasked with rebuilding the midfield ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Thomas Müller has also hung up his boots at international level after winning 131 caps for his country (only Lothar Matthaus and Miroslav Klose have been capped more often by Germany), while Manuel Neuer is another former prop who left the team after the summer.

Those are four massive figures in the locker room that Germany will lose in one fell swoop, but they’re doing pretty well without the quartet so far.

A return of 10 points from a possible 12 puts them in a dominant position at the top of their Nations League group, where the Netherlands and Hungary are now locked in a battle for second place.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has even more modest ambitions. They have drawn and lost three of their four matches so far, and anything other than a win here would likely condemn them to relegation to League B.

It would not be an unexpected demotion for Bosnia, whose main concern on Saturday will be keeping the scoreline low against a Germany team that will secure first place with a victory.

Germany vs Bosnia and Herzegovina predictions

Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina will face each other on the penultimate day of the Nations League.

Germany -2 handicap

Germany only beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-1 in the second leg. Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav scored twice, before the evergreen Edin Dzeko halved the deficit in the second half.

THE Nationalelf will hope for a more convincing victory on Saturday. They should get it too, with home-field advantage being just one of many factors in their favor.

It is difficult to overstate how bad the recent situation in Bosnia has been. Dzeko and Co. have lost nine of their last 10 matches; the exception was a 0–0 draw against Hungary.

It’s not just that Bosnia lost to the Netherlands, Portugal and England. They were also beaten by the likes of Slovakia, Ukraine and Luxembourg, the latter triumphing 4-1.

With all this in mind, it looks like a comfortable night for Germany.

Tip Germany with a handicap of -2 at 11/10 with Betfred

Germany wins to zero

Germany have kept a clean sheet twice in their four matches so far, blanking Hungary on the opening day and the Netherlands in their last outing.

They failed to win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first match between the two teams, but it will be difficult for visitors Freiburg to create clear-cut chances this weekend.

Germany will dominate possession and press high up the pitch, so it will be difficult enough for Bosnia to win the ball back even in advanced areas.

Sergej Barbarez’s side have failed to score in four of their last six matches. This does not bode well for their chances of scoring against Germany in their penultimate match of the campaign.

Germany wins at zero on 08/11 with Betfred

Serge Gnabry will score at any time

Jamal Musiala was forced to withdraw from the Germany squad for the October internationals due to injury, but is now ready to regain his place in the starting XI.

There is no shortage of options up the pitch for Nagelsmann, who can also call upon Florian Wirtz, the aforementioned Undav, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kai Havertz.

The anytime scorer market carries a slight risk given that it’s unclear who Nagelsmann will choose to start, but Gnabry seems like a good choice overall.

He was part of the XI against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands last month, playing centrally in one match and on the flank in the other.

Nagelsmann is clearly a fan of Gnabry and we like his chances of finding the net against Bosnia.
