The UK’s best Christmas market revealed with an incredible extra that impresses visitors FR24 News English

Who doesn’t love Christmas markets? Me.

Sure, the hot dogs are excellent, but that’s it.

You have to contend with festive freezing weather, massive queues, not to mention average hot chocolate for £8 – if you want to keep the mug.

Even though I’m not the biggest fan, I go there once a year and you can’t really deny that the mini crepes are delicious.

And there’s no doubt that they give off a festive vibe, like you’ve stepped into a massive Instagram filter.

Plus, if you like fudge (I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone eat fudge), you’re spoiled for choice.

That being said, the UK’s best Christmas market has been chosen and it’s apparently down to a wow factor.

Solo Press shared their list of “Most Popular Christmas Markets, Based on Social Media Scores,” and here it is:

3) Manchester

There were 1,541 TikTok posts recorded from the Manchester Christmas markets and a total of 62,109 Instagram posts, giving it a score of 7.53.

The Manchester version is known for its iconic massive Santa Claus and its proximity to shops if you want to do your Christmas shopping.

These markets take place from November 8 to December 22.

2) London, winter wonderland

Expect to pay a little more for London’s Winter Wonderland, but it offers a number of Instagram-worthy food, skating, and shopping stalls.

He comes in a close second with 3,409 posts on TikTok, as well as 43,237 on Instagram, earning a rating of 8.60.

The festivities in Hyde Park are open from November 21 to January 5.

1) Edinburgh

But the number one choice was Edinburgh’s Christmas markets, with fewer posts on TikTok (2,738) than London, but more posts on Instagram (55,304), for a total score of 8.62.

But what makes it so popular is simply the decor.

You have the castle, the Ferris wheel and the festive ice rink as a backdrop.

Foodies are also given a sneak peek at “traditional Scottish food stalls” in Princes Street Gardens, with Solo Press calling it a “rich cultural experience”.

The Edinburgh Christmas Market runs from November 15 to January 4, which could be a good option to help you beat the January blues.

But if you fancy going abroad, as voted for by travelers around the world via the best European destinations, the Gdańsk Christmas market in Poland has been crowned the best European Christmas market 2024-2025.

Expedia is also running a promotion where you can book a one-way ticket for just £34.

Skyscanner offers return tickets for dates in early December for £45 from London.
