Loose Women’s Charlene White says she won’t marry her partner for a surprising reason

Loose Women star Charlene White has spoken out about her decision not to marry her partner, citing a very practical reason for the choice. The 44-year-old presenter and her partner Andy, also 44, feel “linked together forever” and believe that “life is beautiful just the way it is”.

In an interview with Best magazine, Charlene highlighted the financial aspect of marriage. She said: “I have a million family members, so even if I wanted to do it, it would be a very expensive day – and weddings are already expensive enough!” She comes from a family that celebrates every gathering in a grand way, telling the Daily Mail that even funerals are large, festive events, with fewer than 100 mourners considered small.

Charlene also cherishes her bond with her Loose Women colleagues, remembering how welcoming they were on her first day. She said: “I remember arriving on the first day and I was so nervous.”

She continued: “These are women that I grew up watching – and have so much respect and pride for – and sit in a room with them. Honestly, I couldn’t even I can’t find the words to describe how nervous I was at that moment.

But the warmth she received made all the difference: “But then they gave me a big hug and told me how great and amazing I was going to be.”

Charlene expressed her gratitude for the support she received from every member of the Loose Women team throughout her time on the show.

She expresses a special bond with Judi Love, also star of Celebrity Gogglebox, but highlights how each Loose Women panelist is unique: “Denise is like the naughty girl at the back of the class that I wish I could be, I hope I will become when I grow up.”

Charlene praises Linda Robson’s hugs, saying they are ‘worth a million pounds’ and feel ‘like coming home’. Her dream guest is Michelle Obama or the Princess of Wales.

Charlene thinks Princess Kate would give a captivating interview, wanting to know more about her support system: ‘We don’t hear her talk about her girl gang… and with the cancer treatment she’s having and her parenthood, she has to have a gang of girls behind her, to help her hold on.”
