Seahawks vs. Cardinals: How to watch, odds and expert picks for NFC West leadership clash

The NFC West is a puzzle – a confusing puzzle of a thousand pieces. Sunday’s game between the Seattle Seahawks (7-5) and Arizona Cardinals (6-6) should help paint the picture, if only for a moment. With first place on the line, the Cardinals look like slight home favorites.

How to watch the Seahawks at the Cardinals

Arizona is coming for this No. 1 spot in the division. The Cards have a narrow +7 point differential, but they are 11th in total offense and defense. They took a formidable Minnesota team on the road last week, 19-6 late in the third quarter, before the Vikings came roaring back. Kyler Murray has found his footing this season, but that fourth-quarter performance should be erased from memory — he went 6 of 12 and threw two interceptions, including a mind-boggling lob to former teammate Byron Murphy Jr.

This defense is however being put in place. Over Arizona’s last four games, opponents have been held below 80 rushing yards and sacked nearly five times per game while converting a paltry 34 percent of third downs.

But the Seahawks beat the Cardinals handily in Week 12, 16-6 in Seattle. Their defense is no joke, and Leonard Williams is finally coming into play – he notched 2.5 sacks on Murray two weeks ago, and followed that up with two more sacks and a pick-six against the Jets last Sunday. Julian Love also became a star in Mike Macdonald’s project.

Geno Smith will never respond. The veteran quarterback has a chance to win his first division title a week after leading a comeback against the team that drafted him. Seattle’s biggest concern should be its offensive line – a bottom-10 group in winning rate and pressure percentage.

The Seahawks have won six straight head-to-head meetings. The Cardinals have only one home win in this series since 2013 – a 37-34 overtime shootout in 2020.
