Parineeti Chopra has no regrets for choosing Chamkila with Diljit Dosanjh over Ranbir Kapoor’s Pet

In a recent chat, Parineeti Chopra opened up about her decision to turn down Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, with Animal.

As Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial Animal became a huge blockbuster, actress Parineeti Chopra has no regrets for turning down the film. Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna released in December 2023. Parineeti revealed that a simultaneous offer for Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila starring Diljit Dosanjh came to her, and she chose to sign that film instead. Looking back, she has no regrets and believes that the higher power had something better planned for her.

Parineeti Chopra and her husband Raghav Chadha recently made an appearance together on India TV’s Aap Ki Adalat. On the show, the actress was asked if she was initially offered the role of Rashmika Mandanna in Animal and how she ended up not signing the film. In response, she said that she was about to sign Animal and that everything was taken care of. However, she received a simultaneous offer for Chamkila for the same dates. She said that Imtiaz Ali was her dream director and she got a chance to show her singing skills in Chamkila. This is why she chose Chamkila over Animal. Parineeti said she doesn’t regret her decision and is extremely happy about it.

“Main sach batau toh, I think upar wala mere liye kuch achcha hi kar raha tha. Wo main film Kar Rahi Thi. Aur almost sab workout ho hi gaya tha. Lekin bilkul same dates pe mujhe Chamkila ka offer aaya tha. Toh usme main itne gaane gaa rahi thi, AR Rahman ke. Imtiaz Ali was my dream director. Aur mujhe itna kuch karne ko mil raha tha ki instead of this maine Chamkila ki. Aur jo pyaar, jo respect, jo recognition, aur nominations mujhe Chamkila ki wajah se mile hai, I don’t think I can regret heading to khush hi hu. (Truth be told, I think God had something better planned for me. I was about to do Animal, and almost everything was sorted. However, I was offered Chamkila for the same dates. I was able to do so much in Chamkila, that I chose this film instead And the love, recognition and nominations I received for Chamkila, I don’t think I can regret this decision, so I am happy. ),” said Parineeti.

Parineeti Chopra played Amarjot Kaur in Imtiaz Ali’s biographical drama film Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh. The film was released on Netflix in April this year.
