However, some stars and famous faces were outraged that WAG Coleen didn’t win and took to social media to vent.

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb shared a photo of Coleen on her Instagram stories and wrote: “She was our queen.”

She wasn’t alone as Emmerdale actress Lisa Jane Riley shared a photo of Coleen in the jungle, telling her fans: “Our real winner. 2nd place. Queen of the jungle @coleen_rooney @imacelebrity.

“Honestly, that was what we all loved watching: you had no game plan, you just excelled by being the truest version of yourself, and strength constantly in abundance….

“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC…keep being YOU…your boys will shine…”

However, some fans hit back at Lisa’s post and accused her of “belittling” Danny Jones, who was crowned the winner.

One fan commented: “You can support Coleen without putting Danny down. Coleen did a great job but Danny was the real winner, voted king of the jungle by the crowd and he totally deserved it, he was truly amazing!”

Another added: “Coleen was and still is fantastic, but Danny is the true king of the jungle and thoroughly deserves his victory.”

“Both deserved to win but the ‘real’ winner is Danny,” said a third.

ITV revealed the final votes, with Danny getting 41.36% of the vote in the bottom three, then 55.21% of viewers voting for him when it was him against Coleen.

Danny won over fans at the start of this year’s series by opening up about his mental health struggles, as well as being the first to acclamation his campmates singing.

During his first week in the jungle camp, the father-of-one broke down in tears as he revealed he began therapy for anxiety at the age of 19 after suffering a panic attack during a live television interview.

Danny also bravely spoke about his estrangement from his father Alan, 72, who he has not seen for 18 years after leaving his mother, Kathy.

After being crowned the new winner by hosts Ant and Dec, Danny thanked viewers, saying: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

“I gave it my all, I gave myself.”

He added: “It’s a nice feeling to be loved. I hope it shows on TV, but it’s real in there.

“You’re hungry, you’re tired, you’re lethargic. It’s crazy. I learned so much about myself.

“I learned how precious time spent with loved ones is. I always put my work first: success involves compromise.

“What I learned, especially from all these campmates, is that time is precious.”
